  • South Africa's Frantz Kruger couldn't go to Tunis, because of obligations related to his medical studies in Bloemfontein. • A record was probably broken with no fewer than 9 false starts in the only 100m heat and two ahtletes out after the first event : Mostafa Taha Kheirallah (Egypt) was disqualified whereas Selwyn Lieutier (Mauritius) couldn't finish the race because of an injury.

    400m
  • Kenyan Ezrah Sambu apparently missed the 400m final because he wasn't back on time from the airport where he was processing his return ticket.

  • Edmonton world champion Amy Mbacke Thiam didn't take part in the final as she felt a pain in her thigh after the heat.

    Sprints
  • A sprinter from Chad, who underwent a crisis of madness, laid into the officials present on the stadium. He was immediately brought under control and arrested by the police forces.
